I am baaaaack! I have been out of town for a week without kids! 🙂 What a blessing it is to take a break from doctor appointments, medication administration, feeding and clothing my special needs adult child now and then. Thank you Respite Care program!!! It has been at least a year since I have had a break of 24 hours or more. Life is easier with him now than it was when he was younger though. Back then he had severe ADHD, uncontrolled medical issues, sick all the time and went to his myriad specialists way more often. Our trip wasn’t totally ‘call free.’ One day he forgot to take his lunch to his day program, his transportation that I scheduled hadn’t scheduled him (grateful for recorded phone calls to verify I did call), he was asking people for cash 😦 Ohhhhhh what an interesting life!
Instead of posting daily, I am going to be posting 2-3 times a week. Please give me feedback on what you would like to learn more about! I’ve been a special needs mom for almost 23 years now and working in education (as a school counselor for over a decade). Please let me know how I can help ease your journey!
